DANNY WEBSTER was born in Cooma in the Southern tablelands of New South Wales in 1952. He joined the New South Wales Police Force in 1976 and received his initial police training at the New South Wales Police Academy, Redfern. He spent the following 18 years carrying out general duties at Chatswood, Lane Cove, Merimbula and Adelong before transferring to the Goulburn Police Academy in 1994 where he spent the following twenty-one years as a law instructor. He retired in 2015 on the rank of sergeant. He has been awarded the National Police Service Medal. the National Medal (with two clasps), the Australian Defence Medal, the Centenary of National Service Medal, the NSW Police Diligent and Ethical Service Medal (with 35-year clasp), the Commissioner's Certificate of Merit, the Commissioner's Olympic Citation and the Commissioner's Sesquicentenary Citation.

He is married to Yvette and they have three children - Natalie, Cheyne and Paul.

BEYOND COURAGE - 4th Edition is the product of over three decades of Danny's ongoing research into yhe history of policing and on-duty deaths of police officers in the state of New South Wales.
